Title of Activity: ‘PBA: Bridging the Gender Gap’
Partnership building activity ‘PBA: Bridging the Gender Gap’ is reflecting the need to tackle and reflect on various aspects of gender in the participating countries including the need to develop competencies of youth workers to reflect on gender related issues in the activities targeting young people, the need of NGOs working on gender related issues to develop their abilities to implemented projects that are tackling issues such as gender based discrimination including labour market imbalances, gender based violence, discrimination of LGBTI or gender based stereotypes and moreover their competencies to bring gender-related issues into public debate and to open the dialogue involving various stakeholders in the participating countries.
‘PBA: Bridging the Gender Gap’ aims to gather youth workers, youth leaders and NGO representatives and firstly, reflect on gender related issues/challenges in participating countries, secondly share good working practices and tools being used by participating organizations while working with young people and thirdly discuss and develop new partnerships, networks and ideas for new projects reflecting various gender issues.
The PBA will be based on non-formal education and the participants will have an opportunity to explore the gender issues through various tools. At the start of the PBA the participants will have an opportunity to reflect on situation in the participating countries, discuss common challenges and present their current projects being implemented in the framework of gender.
The second part of PBA will focus on sharing good working practices and tools especially in connection with working with youth because young age is a critical moment when young people develop and rehearse gender attitudes, especially important in relation with prevention of gender based violence and violent behaviour.
The third part of the PBA will focus on creating new networks, strengthening partnerships among the participating organizations and developing ideas for future projects tackling different aspects of gender that could be implemented at local or international level thus in this part the participants will deeper their knowledge of Erasmus + Programme and develop their competencies to design, implement and evaluate project under Erasmus +.
The activities of the PBA will be designed in line with the following objectives:
PRACTICALITIES:
Each partner will be in the training course represented by 2 or 3 participants;
Training course will take place in Skopje, Macedonia in April 2015 (proposed dates 18 – 26 April).

- To raise the knowledge of the participants and participating organization in the field of gender and issues of gender, feminism, queer, civic participation, non-discrimination and equality, gender-based discrimination;
- To strengthen the competencies of the participants to design and implement quality activities targeting young people and addressing gender-related issues;
- To raise the abilities of the participants and the participating organizations to be actively involved in their communities and raise awareness of general public on gender-related issues.
- To develop the knowledge of the participants of the Erasmus + Programme and its 3 Key Actions and strengthen the competencies of youth workers in the field of project management in youth field;
- To support sharing good practices and increasing the quality of activities being provided by the participants organizations;
- To provide the opportunities for the participants for networking and creating new ideas tackling gender issues;
- To support development of new partnerships and local/international projects that implemented in the framework of Erasmus + Programme would lead to fighting discrimination and creating open civic society in the participants’ countries.
